Kim & Mike,
We got a letter from Mike a few days ago; here it is, raw & unedited (sorry for any typos, I'm tired):
Moja (my) Droga (dear) Ciotka (aunt) & Wutek (Uncle):
Hej Czesc! What is up my awesome aunt and uncle? How goes life in beautiful Redondo Beach? I can only imagine how great you all are doing. Tell my little cousins hello and that I love them. I don't even want to think about how old they're going to look when I get back. Goodness.
Life here at the MTC is awesome. They feed us well, I get to play soccer almost everyday, my teachers are the best, and there's just a great spirit here.
Thank you so much for the letters. I appreciate them so much. Matt - I've been reading the Ksiega Mormona at least 15 minutes everyday out loud with my comp and it has for sure helped. I'm starting to catch little words here and there and it's just great practice for my mouth & brain to lock in those sounds. I love the Polish language though. It's pretty tough and there is so much to memorize and remember it gives me a minor panic attack just thinking about it (ha), but I just love learning it. It's pretty crazy about them not sending anymore North American missionaries to Russia, eh? I know most of the last district to go to Russia - we play soccer regularly lol. I'm glad there's no problems with the other Slavic countries for sure. I hope things change in russia very soon. Do you think it ever will?
Rachel, I went to the Health Center recently and the lady at the back desk (where you used to work) completely remembered you! It's pretty amazing. She had nothing but good things to say; she said you were one of those "memorable ones." Ha. I can't remember her name, but she was very sweet-looking, had brownish hair...I wish I had more to describe her. : She's super nice and definitely remembers you is the main point, ha. I'm so glad you loved Ender's Shadow - it is soooo good, eh? Ha, yes, you'll have to let me know how you like the rest of the Shadow books. you still have to read Speaker for the Dead. So good. Keep me posted on your book reading.
I just re-read your letter - swimming lessons sounds pretty hilarious ha ha. I can see the drama of having to jump from the side of the pool. It's hopefully become more fun for Natalie since you last wrote...lol but maybe not. It's funny how things like swimming lessons can be such scary things to children. Wasn't Rich afraid to swim in the ocean forever? Kind of random - lol.
Well, I pray you are all doing well. I always love hearing from you both, it's so great to know how you are doing/what you are doing. I love you all so much. Thank you for the support.
Your Polish nephew,
Starszy Michael Rushton
