It has been a great and beautiful week at the MTC. Difficult per usual, but very enjoyable. Our district keep growing closer and closer. Seems kind of inevitable...spending 14 hours a day for 5 weeks with the same people. At least we don't want to hurt eachother yet eh? :P
So 20 new missionaries came in last week and they are phenomenal. So much excitement and passion for the work. Their's a group going to Las Vegas ( not elder Tanner's side of town though). The district leader is this Australian Elder who is funny as all get out. He shows intense respect for his zone leaders, but is so overly complimentary (in the most sincere way) it makes me laugh. One night as i come to make sure they're all in bed, he says to me "Now i don't want to scare you Elder Rushton, but do you know what the Mantle of the Priesthood is? Cos I can see it upon you. It's just amazing to see you and Elder Tanner and know your only 19." So great, so nice, gives me a whole (underlined) lot to live up to, so i'll be doing my best. :) THe New BUlgarians are great kids as well. They all love to play soccer which is great. All the Russian- speakers i've been playing with are leaving to Ukraine and the Baltics- it's sad to see them go, but these new guys are great. SO much fun to have and be around. The Foreign elders, from Elder Oviervliet (Oferfleet) from the Netherlands and elder Hanninenennenenennen (something like unto that (i can't say it very well)) from Finland. Finnish i've learned is in fact the Hardest language in the world, followed by Navajo, Japansese, Mandarin...another language i can't remember and then Polish. Ha. I think they are all about the same level of ridiculously hardness. I feel blessed to be learning the POlish though. It goes well with my brain, the letters and words seem to click pretty well- far more than Navajo, japanses or another asian language would, i feel confident of that. Every day i get more excited to head out to Poland and just try to talk to people. And tell them about the gospel and how it can bless their lives. We just learned that the people of Poland drink Beer like it's water- like beer isn't even alchohol. I can just imagine in it in their McDonald's soda dispensers. It'lll be hard for people to accept that they can't drink beer, but those who are ready to hear it wil llisten.
